Sumner Stingray Band Leadership

Ms. Cummings | Director of Bands

Ms. Kaleigh Cummings is a recent graduate from the University of South Florida. During her time at USF, she was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity. Her field of study included techniques in music education. She also focused on conducting music and clarinet performance as a specialty.

“It is such an honor to be leading the Sumner Band…”

Ms. Cummings served with Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity. She marched with the University of South Florida Herd of Thunder Marching Band (also known as the USF HOT Band). She also held multiple roles as a member of the distinguished USF HOT Band including treasurer, clarinet section leader, and band captain.

Leadership, service, and commitment are just a few of the words that describe her dedication to the band program and the success of its members. Ms. Cummings started by sharing with her new band family that “It is such an honor to be leading the Sumner Band for the 2025-2026 school year.” She is encouraged by the great work going on at Sumner and remains eager to make music with the Stingray Band.
